Send money to Belgium

You can transfer up to €50,000 from France to Belgium when sending straight to a bank account and paying via bank transfer. You can send up to €5,000 for cash pickup or to a bank account when paying by credit²/debit card or Sofort and up to €6,000 in cash for cash pickup.

You can transfer money to Belgium online, on our app, or in person. The choice is yours.

1. To send money to Belgium, you first need to register for your free Western Union profile.
2. Select ‘Send now’ and choose Belgium as your destination.
3. Enter the amount of money you’d like to transfer and choose Cash or Bank Account as the receiver method.
4. Pay by credit² card, debit card, Sofort, or bank transfer. You can also pay by cash if you’ve selected Cash as the receiver method.
5. Look out for your confirmation email and share your unique tracking number (MTCN) with your receiver.

When sending money to Belgium, you’ll need:

• Your full name and address
• A French passport, driving licence, or other form of government-issued ID
• Your receiver’s full name and address

To send money from France to a Belgian bank account, you’ll need your receiver’s bank name, account number, account type, and address.

1. Find your nearest Western Union agent location.
2. Give a valid government-issued ID or phone number in at the counter, plus the details of your loved one. Before transferring money to Belgium, you may need to provide proof regarding your source of funds. To help, please ensure you also take a bank statement, tax return, or payslip along with you.
3. Pay for your money transfer to Belgium using cash, credit² or debit card.
4. Keep track of your money transfer using the tracking number (MTCN) on your receipt.

Your receiver may get access to their money in minutes³ via cash pickup. Transfer speed all depends on how you choose to send money. A bank transfer for cash pickup can take up to 3 business days while a bank transfer to a bank account can take up to 6 business days. Sending to a bank account can take up to one business day when paying by credit²/debit card or Sofort.
