Education for Women and Girlsmin Rwanda

Julie Armstrong, United States

In 2016, the village of Huye, near the city of Butare in western Rwanda, was threatened by low nutrition resources. Malnutrition was already a problem among the children and elderly, the most vulnerable of the population. Alice Cyuzuzo, a degreed midwife, approached me with a written proposal to start growing bananas and subsistence crops. This has been a success, and now the village wants to put their success to needed program to improve literacy among women and girls. $ 1000 would build a classroom, and buy more tools so they can continue their agricultural project which employs the women.
