ArtHealing &Prevention Workshop for Ebola Orphans

kadiatou Toure, United States

Every child who loses a parent faces trauma. In Guinea the Ebola epidemic did not increase orphans numbers beyond the capacity of extended family to absorb them; however the pressure of increased orphan numbers have lowered the quality of care that these family networks are able to provide. The emotional vulnerability of these orphans represent a serious public health challenge that I with the NGO Le Projet Ecoute intend to tackle by offering free workshop focusing on healing through ARTS and preventing further trauma (child sexual abuse prevention). With a $1000 we could help 20 orphans.
